Where We Are Now

Danish-Finnish Clara Kerr is divorcing Justin, her husband of nine years. Until recently, Justin managed a local branch of an international bank which has closed. Because of his language skills he was offered and accepted a position at Canary Wharf, thinking of their financial security, and hoping the family would move. Clara, furious, expected him to find something local. She is determined to remain in Suffolk in Keeper’s Cottage, with Zoe and Carl, their seven year old twins.
A complication is that Den, Justin’s father, has settled next door to Keeper’s Cottage, having purchased a small plot of land from them and imported a lodge.
Clara has met Caden Devereaux, who recently inherited a Suffolk estate. She is cautious about their very different backgrounds.
Now Justin has accepted a contract in Nairobi. His relationship with Linda, a Chinese girl who lives in Soho, is uncertain.
