My Lucky Star is a heartfelt tale that celebrates the unbreakable bond between a young girl and her little horse as they set out on an extraordinary adventure. With courage in their hearts and stardust in their wake, they take to the skies, soaring into the wild blue yonder where imagination and wonder know no bounds.

Guided by the shimmering constellation Pegasus, the pair travels through a celestial landscape filled with magic and possibility. Along the way, they discover that dreams can carry you farther than you ever imagined—and that true friendship can light the way to the stars.

author bio
Cheryl Olsten is an author, former magazine publisher, and devoted philanthropist whose work bridges the worlds of literature and equestrianism. She has used her platforms to champion causes close to her heart—most notably BookSmiles, a literacy initiative that donates thousands of gently used books to children in underserved communities, and the EQUUS Foundation, which is dedicated to the welfare of horses.

Publishing Career & Literary Work

Cheryl began her career as the publisher of two New Jersey–based magazines, New Jersey Life and New Jersey Life Health & Beauty. While her early work centered on editorial storytelling and lifestyle journalism, her creative path evolved over the past eight years towards a love for books for young readers.

She is the author of several beloved children’s picture books, including Big Wishes for Little Feat, the award-winning Mimi & the Gold Baton, and Punctuation to the Rescue. Her upcoming book, My Lucky Star, is the follow-up to Big Wishes for Little Feat.

Through her stories, Cheryl explores themes of friendship, perseverance, and always happy endings. Encouraging young readers to believe in the extraordinary. As she often says, “There is always something over the rainbow when you reach for it.”
