Soldier To Martyr
The story of St. Alban told in a modern setting.
Albanus is a soldier who has fought against the totalitarian regime that has taken over his country in a region of Eastern Europe. Exhausted by the long war, he travels to the capital city where, in order to survive, he is forced to work for the new government. A Christian priest he had met on his journey to the city now slowly converts him to his faith, although Christianity is proscribed by the regime.
At a time of great danger, Albanus disguises himself as the priest and is arrested for practising an illegal faith. Accused as well of treason, he goes to his death as a Christian martyr.
This novel is both an affirmation of Christian values and a story of love and courage in a brutal world only too familiar to us today.
