Pieces of Hate

Detective Inspector Anna Mae of the Midlands Major Investigations Unit is a martial arts expert of Chinese descent whose calm precision masks a relentless investigative instinct. When a recently released career criminal is found murdered with a single shot through the heart, and a strange gold coloured washer placed on his chest, Anna is drawn into a case that reaches back thirty years to a robbery long buried in the Midlands’ criminal history.

As more former convicts are killed in the same ritualistic manner, Anna and her team must uncover the link between these men, the old robbery, and the killer’s motive.

What happened three decades ago that’s worth killing for now?

And what message is hidden in the gold washer left behind on each body?

This is a twist driven, character led police thriller introducing D.I. Anna Mae, a detective with a unique skill set, and a sharp mind.
