Electric Locomotives Through the Lens

The contents of this book are a combination of my own photographs plus a large number
that I have had to ‘buy-in’ from photo-libraries to complete the story of electric locomotives
employed by the British main-line railway companies during the twentieth-century,
plus a few of the better-known private railways and industrial locations. Unfortunately
there are a few locomotives that I have been unable to source digital images of, so I have
substituted hand-drawn images to fill the gaps.
A few of the older photographs appearing in this book may leave a little to be desired,
so I would like to ask the reader to be patient and make allowances for this as some of
the images are over a hundred years old and some are even copied from ‘glass plates’!
Nevertheless I hope that the reader enjoys perusing the contents of the book.
